CHARACTER INFORMATION
NAME: The Signless (Geshua)
CANON: Homestuck
CANON POINT: The vast expletive.
CHARACTER AGE: 26
HISTORY: A link to his wiki page, and the specifics fleshed out for the deets:

The Signless grew up with his adopted mother (a concept entirely foreign to trolls, but very appropriate to their relationship) in the desert. For most of his childhood, he was kept away from greater Alternian society due to the fact that he would likely be killed by other trolls of they discovered his mutant blood color. Due to this sheltering, he grew up much more nurtured and innocent than the average troll child, and it wasn’t until his teens that he truly started to realize what life as a troll was like for the rest of his people.

He started having his “visions” as a preteen (at about six sweeps in troll terms) - or more accurately his memories of being a different troll in the version of his universe that existed before his past self inadvertently took part in bringing out its rewriting. He remembered a version of trolls that were kind and nurturing to each other, and as a result he became filled with a desire to spread that potential to the rest of the world.

Within a sweep he was saying a temporary goodbye to his mother, the Dolorosa, and heading off on his own to see the world and spread the word of his epiphany.

He started out slow and cautious, learning about the world he lived in and keeping his blood identity a secret. He gained skills in public speaking, and found ways to express what he’d learned to others. He taught lessons of compassion and peace in a world where such things were almost non-existent. With time he picked up a following and reunited with the Dolorosa, meeting new important followers like the Disciple and Psiioniic, both of whom he eventually fell into romantic relationships with.

The movement lasted for longer than he could have hoped. He made it to 26 human years of age before things finally began to fall apart. Because the more well known he became, the more that the highbloods in control could not tolerate his existence.

He was eventually captured in a siege against a rebellion stronghold, where he gave himself over to the highbloods in the hope of saving his followers. As a surprise to no one, that didn’t save anyone. He was executed publicly, and his closest followers were sentenced to worse. All the while he never fully realized what his visions had actually been, or what they really meant.

PERSONALITY: Signless’s personality comes in two parts - the peace and compassion of his early life, and the fury of his dying days. In most cases, it would be impossible to know what kind of person he would come after his execution. He was dead very shortly after the vast expletive, after all. Thankfully, exploring these things are one of the many joys of panfandom roleplay.

His story is mostly one told by others in canon, with a load of context cues and parallels to other characters that make it easy to fill in the blanks. He is also pretty heavy handedly a Christ figure, and everything that entails. So as literally Troll Jesus, the fact that he is a messiah figure is not surprising at all.

For most of his life, more than anything else, Signless was known for his benevolence. He was a lover in a world of fighters, and the ideals he held most dear were at a harsh contrast with the shameless hatred and butchery that most trolls were accustomed to dealing out. He was cursed with a unconditional sort of compassion for his fellow troll - he could see some good in just about anyone, and would pursue that good as far as he was able. He was caring, but never unwise in his interactions with others. He knew when his attempts at peace would be spurned, and while he would give the world to any soul in need, he would not put himself or others in needless danger when he already knew an individual wasn’t ready to accept his message.

He was intelligent and well spoken - he chose his arguments and his lines of attack wisely. Despite becoming the center of an ultimately violent rebellion, he was never a warrior or a strategist himself. When it came to issues of war, his only advice would be to harm others as little as necessary, and then he would take a step back and allow those more knowledgeable in combat to take the wheel. He was, and would also be, a spiritual leader and not a war leader. However, his own compassion and pacifism was not enough to blind him from the fact that many of his peers did not have the luxury of sticking to such ideals. While he hated violence, he knew that sometimes it was necessary to protect those you loved, and while he would always ask that people find another way he could not fault those that had hurt or killed in the past out of necessity and fear.

He functioned outside of troll cultural expectations in a lot of ways. He was a mutant, but he wasn’t ashamed, he sought peace instead of war, and he frequently defied the troll expectations of romance, too. His romance with the Disciple would be remembered as one that had transcended the four traditional quadrants of troll romance, in that neither of them felt the need to abide by any sort of social rules when defining their love. Given the natural troll expectation of having multiple partners, it would not be unreasonable to think that this could extend to a sort of unlabeled polyamory, where he refused to constrain his feelings based on the expectations of others. His very existence defied the standards of troll society - why bend to conform when it came to romance?

But this all changed when the fire nation attacked when his capture brought about the end of his movement, and sparked the transition from one half of his passion to the other. Realizing the depths of the hopelessness and corruption of his people, his love turned to anger.

In occurred in his final days, climaxing at the moment of his death where his anger became so all consuming that it overwhelmed him. He screamed with a fury that shook thousands, and though the aftermath would not be seen, it changed him. In Midnight Syndicate specifically, he is being summoned very shortly before his death, where his fury has almost reached its climax, but not quite. He is out of sorts in all the way you would expect of a person who has just had their entire life's work destroyed, and faced horrific torture in the process. At this point, he will have no idea whether he will ever be able to be that same person again.

ABILITIES: While psionics are very common in lowblooded trolls like the Signless, he does not actually have any overt powers. He functions at about the same level as a human, except for some general troll traits, like enhanced durability, night vision, and things like having claws and thick skin. This is nothing super exceptional, though - stab a troll a few times and they will die, though it might be at a surprising delay and after losing a boggling about of blood. Besides racial template stuff, there is the following highlights:

Mild Clairvoyance: I'm not going to go into the details of how this power came to be, but the short version is that due to some wacky bullshit, the Signless unknowingly has the ability to access the memories of the version of himself that he was reincarnated from. Still following? Okay. Signless himself is unaware of this past version of himself, and has always believed these memories to be "visions" of the Alternia that Could Be, where everything doesn't suck all the time. Tragically, his past self was actually kind of a douche, but that's neither here nor there.

Legendary Charisma: Anybody that can pull a Jesus has got to have some force of personality. Signless's words and ideas started a planet wide revolt. More than a few trolls laid down their lives for his sake, and he changed the minds of thousands. Needless to say, this combined with his unusual levels of kindness and compassion means that he can be very charming to others. Also, he's got some of that "beautiful unicorn" rarity going on with the whole "only redblood troll to ever live" thing.

Leaping: This isn't super special, but he is pretty fast, due to a long history of running away from things that were going to murder him. A general competency with athletics, more or less. Nothing he'd win a gold medal for.

SINS & VIRTUES:

Wrath: Given that he's Troll Jesus, he isn't the super easiest guy to peg with sins, but wrath is actually something very intrinsically tied to his character. Though it is something he becomes known for primarily after his death, through the identity of The Sufferer, his last moments showed his capacity for depthless rage in the face of injustice. The Sufferer is not just an entity of compassion and kindness, but also a representation of fury in the face of oppression. Given the fact that Signless never lived to face the outcome of the Vast Expletive (AKA when he got so mad and cursed the world so loud that it was said to have radiated through the heavens), his relationship with the emotion is complicated. But it has definitely risen to the forefront more than it ever was before - something he has no idea how to deal with.
Lust: Signless was no one to deny himself based on the expectations of others. He was ultimately comfortable with himself and with his sexuality, enough that he would live out totally counter culture romances in the open. The specifics of this are largely headcanon, because most canons don't delve super intensely into the sex lives of every character, but as I'm playing him, he has been quite sexually open and prone to casual encounters.

Kindness: On the flip side, as Troll Jesus, the Signless is basically accountable for almost all of the virtues - especially kindness. His personality section explains it all: he was a religious leader built on a foundation of compassion and kindness to your fellow troll. Really no questioning it.
Generosity: Same as the last one, really. Signless would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. Anything that is his is also yours.
Diligence: Becoming the heart of a revolution doesn't just come from nowhere. Signless started preaching when he was still just a child, due to an inner need to do what he could to change the world for the better. He's a hard worker, and has been tireless in his attempts to do good.
Temperance: Though he is charming and intelligent, navigating the social scape of Alternia is not an easy thing. Not only was Signless remembered for being passionate, he was also remembered for being wise. He knew when to take risks, and he new when to play it safe. He didn't put himself at needless risk preaching to people who he knew he couldn't yet reach. Signless has spent much of his life controlling his outward behaviour in order to live up to his reputation as a spiritual leader.
Patience: He's spent a very large portion of his life trying to convince people to change their minds about things that they've believed since birth. If he didn't have a truck load of patience, he would never have made it this far.
Humility: But is he actually Jesus? Nah, of course not, he says. He's just a guy.
